New year
New what?
Where's the fun? The fireworks?
Ohh, no mulled wine
Mince pies bare, pudding deserted

Are YOU happy?
Yes YOU by the Opera House
Or down river crushed
Whose house are YOU in?
Whose wine and beer are yours?
And which girl will you take at end?
To see you in

For me here
It's no so happy
yes, my time is not long
But still OHH how I miss
The special things,
The atmosphere, that midnight sound
Out in the snow to freeze
And see out the old – in the new

Nice to do it there
And remember THAT time
Ohh, WHAT a start THAT was!
But all too fake I fear
As she is distantly gone
And foreignly distant

So now
I raise no glass
No toast do I drink
Party time is somewhere else with someone else
What I have new
Is just Number 10

So I say THIS to YOU

Are you having fun?
My fun will be the next

And then I will look back
