If we Depend on those we can NOT,
Or Need those who need us NOT,
And Rely on those who will NOT,
We have only ourselves,
And they do NOT!

As we move into a New one
The Old is going by
Was it good? Will it better?
Will we drown or will we fly?

In this time of celebration
Easy is to drink it dry
Though we take time to remember
What we've done and what went by

Looking forward, not reversing
Is the way we're taught to see
But it happens much too often
We regret what was not to be

Throw AWAY negativity!
Hold it tight your better days!
Never think, only hope
That IMPROVEMENT is the way!

What you CAN'T do is undo it
What you MUST is open wide!
Let it out! Distract your worries!
Tell them GO and say GOODBYE!

When it comes to nearest midnight
See it in with widest smile!
Have a party! Drink a toast!
Fill your glass and DON'T BE SHY!!
